Unfortunately in the last 5 years I have run into business owners who bring us in at the last possible second. I typically hear something like… “Business has been really slow, and we need to bring new customers in the door fast. We don’t have a marketing budget, but we need to do something.”
Bringing business in the door fast is doable, however, bringing NEW customers in the door fast and for little money is not (or at least very unlikely). Taping your existing customer base is the fastest and cheapest way to bring in more business. Of course in order to do this you need to have a database of existing customers, and have current email addresses and contact information on file. But it is the least expensive way to bring in business, in fact bringing in a new customer is 20 times more expensive than up-selling an existing customer.
